Our homes, ideally, reflect who we are as people. We choose our living space based upon our preferences, and the décor upon our personalities. If our homes match our lifestyles, why shouldn’t our garages, also? After all, the epoxy flooring edmond is often where we store items often used for hobbies (particularly seasonal hobbies, as we live in a four season climate). It’s not at all difficult to organize your garage in such a way that it compliments who you are, and makes doing the things you enjoy much easier.
The Handyman
The garage is the obvious place for the handyman or woman to make his or her own. Many people who spend a lot of time in the garage also enjoy fixing things, and tools usually take up a great deal of space in the garage. There are many ways to make the most of your garage space, so you don’t have to spend any time digging through piles of washers to find the right size.
A workbench, of course, is the first thing many people who use their garage for handy work tend to install. You can make a workbench yourself, or hire a professional garage organizer to build one for you, and to create a whole workstation around it. You can decide how many and what size shelves and drawers, and whether you want slatboard or pegboard. You can also have cabinets installed to house wood pieces and larger tools.
The Gardener
If you are an avid gardener, then you can make the garage the perfect place for you and your plants with a gardening bench. A gardening bench is much like a workbench in that it’s a workplace, but it’s customized for gardeners instead of handymen. You can have your desired amount of cabinets and drawers for storing gardening tools, and a space for tending to your potted plants. Plumbing can even be installed in your garage for ease of watering and washing. And, of course, there will be lots of flat space for you to place your plants. If you plan to use your workbench as a garden, it’s a good idea to set it in front of a garage window. That way, you can let your plants soak up the sun, and easily move them out of the way when they’ve had enough.
The Sportsperson
If you are the kind of person who is out all summer biking, hiking, camping, kayaking, etc., then you probably need a place to put all of your bulky equipment! The garage is the natural place for these things, but if not stored properly, they can get damaged, dirty, and in the way. Luckily, there are plenty of ways to conveniently and safely store your sports equipment. Sport racks, for example, keep your bike(s) and smaller sports equipment up and out of the way, yet easy to access. Installing hooks can keep larger items, like kayaks in a safe place, and ceiling storage is a great place to keep camping equipment. Have a garage organized to specifically suit your sporting habits will give you more time to do the things you love, without having to look for equipment, or spending more money on new equipment because of damage.
The Partier
There are so many ways to make a garage into a party space. Some of the best things to do to make your garage comfortable for hanging out is to get the floor taken care of, because there is nothing more unappealing than a cold, dirty floor. There are plenty of options for garage flooring. Then, adding comfortable furniture and tables is a must, as well as some kind of heating device and electronics such as a television, and refrigerator. After that, you can move on to the decorating. Find wall hangings and the like that fit your personality. Soon, all of your friends will want to come over and party in your garage!
The garage is probably the most overlooked space in the home. Too often, it becomes a clutter of random items. However, with a little time and effort, you can have a garage that fits you and your hobbies perfectly!
