Early spring. I can already smell the change in the earth a course in miracles youtube my back door. Something is happening, stirring, awakening. I spot a small green sprout. It’s not one of the garden plants that went to sleep last fall; it’s a tiny little clover-like weed. Simple, unassuming, profound. Interestingly enough, it took all of creation’s energies to bring that little living twig into existence.
Without everything that has ever occurred, in all space and time, that one little plant would never have arrived. It existed from the moment of creation. Star stuff. The same atoms that once built galaxies are moving around exuberantly within the little leaves. The very protons that once rested in the core of the sun now spread themselves out as chlorophyll to welcome their stellar cousins, traveling through space at 186,000 miles per second to become one with the leaves, the stems, the roots. Soon the little plant will die and give way to the larger ones and later, in a month or so, the process begins all over again. The summer weeds. Chaotic, turbulent, and quite grand.
