This £350 million development is located next door to the Waterloo Station and the relatively new 4 star park Plaza County Hall. The hotel is set on the Old Country Hall site, which was claimed to be the city’s ugliest building and was demolished in 2006. The hotel was designed by Uri Blumenthal Town Planners and BUJ Architects, and contributed tremendously to employment, transportation and development of public space in the city.
The hotel features several eco-friendly technologies, which are designed to limit its footprint on the environment. The interior of the hotel is fitted with passive infrared movement sensors, which are designed to cut off power in areas where inactivity is detected.
